Roy Helu Jr.

Was it my imagination or did he seem a little despondent in the post game presser. I'm guessing he; and the rest of the team are getting tired of the media frenzy and questions about T-mart. They sure do ask some stupid ones.

I'm sure the Pelini post-game temper tantrum in the locker room had something to do with that but...he really seemed like he wasn't himself. Almost like someone who's not having fun playing A GAME anymore.

Sometimes...this obsessive drive to "perfection" seems a little psychotic. But that's jmo.
I think they've all been coached to be like that in one form or another. They're taking after Pelini in his pressers. Give generic answers, don't give overly emotional answers, and get in/get out. Helu is kind of weird like that though, tbh. I had a class with him once and he's kind of a jokester but also a tad awkward. But, he's a good guy.

I believe he needs something like 880 yards to be 4th on the all time list of husker up there with names like Rozier, Green, and Crouch. It will have been well earned and he had a hell of a game today. I often think as fans we get excited about the younger players and overlook Helu's great contrbutions.
THIS. Honestly I heard this stat on Unsportsmanlike Conduct one day and was shocked(so were Kevin and Severe). Who would have honestly thought that Rozier, Green, Crouch, Helu. It just doesn't seem like those four names should be clumped together, but with a decent year they will be.

Roy was at my cousins wedding this summer and we chatted a little. He said going into camp this was the healthiest he had ever been. And it looks like it now. With Rex staying healthy this year as well, Roy can easily be a difference maker when healthy and take his spot behind three of the biggest names to ever tote the rock at NU

What makes it even more surprising is that he was hurt for most of his sophmore year, and played hurt most of last year, and still accumulates these great numbers.

That's a slight exaggeration isn't it? He was only hurt a few games his sophomore year, and barely over half of his junior year (the shoulder injury occured before the middle of the season, but he ran strong for a few games later on).

If he stays healthy he should run for 1500 yards and he just might have 20 tds the way hes running so far.Burkhead ran very well also. Would it be possible for 3 1000 yard rushers? :nanalama

Not sure if it was last year or the year before, but Nevada had 3 1000 yard rushers in a season. so yea its possible.

It's not an exaggeration for last year. He was banged up probably from Va Tech on.

Yeah I think it was last year if I remember right I knoe Nevada has a really good qb also

I'm thinking Helu is gonna run wild on the Huskies. Looking back at bigger matchups like this, and that's where he's really left his mark. He and Rex are fresh, and both will benefit from Martinez' handling the rock so much the last couple games. Roy has so much speed when he gets outside, those Husky LBs won't know what happened when he's screaming down the sideline for another TD.

My Helu stat line prediction for this game: 142 yards and 2 TDs on 16 carries.

I don't remember anything from the Va Tech game, other than him running all over them. The Missouri game was when this started, with him holding his shoulder awkwardly after his last touchdown run.
