RUNNING BACKS

other than Marlon, how healthy are the other backs and what role will Mendoza play early?

Good questions. Although not completely healed, Glenn is running without a hitch for the first time in a while.

Lucky is 100% and should get the brunt.I think Glenn can play a very big role if he can stay healthy.

If not, we will see some youngsters get Lucky a breather or mop up duty.

Hope that helps.

Any updates on Wilson? He's pretty much done for the year...well...his career here, is he? It's really sad, if he is.

I hope Culbert moves back to defense. I know it's not bad having more RB depth, but I just feel like he belongs back there, whether it's with the linebackers or safeties. They need him back there too.

Who'll be #3 behind Lucky and Glenn? I would expect Culbert if he stayed (if not #3, then PLEASE move him back to D! come on!) but otherwise Mendoza? Castille? Probably not Helu or Prince...

I believe its going to be LUCKY and GLENN with Castille playing alot and Mendoze in on some passing plays.

darveaux may have touched on the very reason i started this post. I sense a little D'Angelo out of Lucky....afraid to run inside....injuries, he didnt get out of the spring game without getting hurt. and according to Bill there is no solid fullback stepping up as yet. now that may be a coaching tatic to raise intensity at that position, but honestly we have no exp at the running back pos. and or DBs but thats another post.

LIke we had discussed in a previous posting, I don't think we have anything to worry about in th FB department Lawson is a stud. I hope you are wrong about Lucky. Last year he had quite a few runs he busted up the middle for some big gains.

I agree w/ you about injuries. But this season he will be handling most of the carries, if he can in fact stay healthy, and I really think that if he is successfull then his confidence will continue to build. He is a very important aspect in getting our running game well, up and running, if I may. He has shown great ability to break into the secondary. Also you never know if one of the backs lower on the depth chart will emerge. Jackson was third string @ the start of last season. But I have plenty of faith in our North Hollywood boy! :horns2

I don't know...it's just that nothing he has done has made me say 'wow'. He just seems like a back that's a little above par for NCAA and don't think he'll ever do much (if he even goes) pro. He's injury prone, afraid to run at holes, isn't really all that quick compared to some other backs in the game, and my number one biggest gripe...he goes down fast...doesn't break too many tackles.

Yep, Lucky is awesome alright. I think he will have a breakout year.

I am interested in health status for the two. In particular, I wonder how Cody is coming along.
