I mean, yes the coach is in charge of preparing his players. Players are also responsible for their own play. The scheme isn't that complex, there's just a lot of window dressing.Isn’t it the coaches job to make sure this doesn’t happen?
I always look at Iowa. Why do they make few mistakes? Do they have a simpler scheme? Maybe. Smarter players? No.
Somehow their coaches get what they want done across to their players better than most any other staff.
Do they practice better? Teach it better?
You gotta remember these are pretty young guys on the line they aren't upper classmen with years of practice under their belt learning the offense. There will be mistakes as they gain experience. We've got the guys we need on the line, they just need time to develop. I hate to say it because the next season mentality is so cliche but... maybe 2021 and definitely 2022 this line is going to be pretty good.
