S. Alabama Depth Chart Released

The entire WR listing is irrelevant, imo. Most of those guys, most of the time, won’t be played in those positions/combinations like that. Warner, Jones, Wandale are not the same position. JD, McQuitty aren’t the same position. So on and so forth. Those guys will play a ton of combinations and some kind of rotation will eventually sort itself out, but expect multiple guys used in multiple positions all year.

Walters said last year on the first depth chart that he just had to print something. Expect a similar statement this week.
Great point about the WR depth chart.  There will be so many combinations of formations/players on the field, that a WR depth chart doesn't mean much.

With all that said, I was happy to see Miles Jones listed ahead of Warner. Tells me he is making the progress he needs to make after worries he was going to get left behind perhaps.

I'd consider the entire d-line 2-deep startes. I'd bet the second wave of guys will play just as much as the starters, but you might as well roll the Davis's out there together so they can feed off of each other.

Anyone else notice Allen did in fact catch Stoll? That's an OR as well, didn't really expect that.

i know Allen's dad...he said Austin has been working overtime in the offseason and the kid is a beast

There is a difference between being low on the WR depth chart and being left off completely. I'm sure all 9 listed and more will play, but I think it is safe to assume those are the top 9 right now.

The unique skill sets that the tight ends have can create a lot of headaches for opposing defenses.  Allen can come in with Stoll in a 2 TE set, but Allen can split out wide.  He will be bigger than DB's and faster than LB's who are trying to cover him.

At least two of those may play more out of the backfield.

Jones has been talked about favorably multiple times in camp, and we know the staff loves Warner.

Warner has been hampered by a nagging injury in camp, but I think he will get plenty of snaps once he's healthy.  The thing I am looking forward to in the WR position is WAY more depth than last year.  NU basically had 3 guys who were playing meaningful snaps the 2nd half of the season.

Is Warner still battling an injury?  It could be a reason for the listing
Yes

Was Mills the "fullback" in Paul Johnson's wingbone offense?  If so, a number of Mills' carries were probably simple dives into the middle of the line to keep the defense honest.  I look forward to seeing Mills be a power back in a spread-style offense.
