Why not just practice at the indoor facility that is built for them?

There's no wind indoors. Wind effects on the ball make the sand game vastly different than court ball, and you have to get used to that.
Think about the fact that no California team is practicing on an indoor court right now. We have to get out there ASAP to keep pace.

In place of updated power rankings for this week, the Nebraska sand volleyball team has announced preliminary partners for their competitions in California in mid-March.

How many sand volleyball programs are there? The fact that Nebraska litterally started the program 3 months ago and is a preseason top 10 team nationally already just strikes me as extremely strange and makes me feel really bad for Stanford that we can do that to them.
