Nebraska was right to keep Pelini in 2014.

Florida should have fired Muschamp last year.

Rutgers was right to keep Flood.

Forget whether Mullen should have been fired. Right now, he deserves the Kirk Ferentz contract.

Illinois should have fired Tim Beckman.

Inconclusive, but Virginia looks like it was right to keep London.

That's 20/20 hindsight. There was a strong case to fire Bo after the Iowa game. Had the right person(s) been available he would have been. And who knows what that new coach would be doing with this team.

agreed. it was a perfect storm.

Also, to say we were right to retain him? Well, I'm still no sure about that yet either. The season is barely half over. Let's revisit it in December. Same goes with all these guys. Except of course Muschamp and Beckman. Them are dun.

I'll also be curious to see what Miss St does NEXT year when Mullen's experienced and veteran team is no longer and he underperforms greatly compared to what the expectations will be if they continue doing what theyre doing this year.

it was the second 8 win regular season in 6 years. Hadnt happened since 2008.

Sorry. Little details like that get to me. I'm a little obsessive/compulsive when it comes to stats and figures, esp when used to support or deflect a point.

No freaking way. This program couldn't survive without Pelini. Personally, I don't know how we ever accomplished so much before he got here. We weren't even close to firing him last season. Do you know how scary it is to hire new coaches? I hear its really scary. As a Nebraska fan I would know, we've been a revolving door of coaching staffs around here for basically the entirety of our program's history and it's always just horrible. It never works out for anyone. Look around at the most successful programs in the last 15-20 years. Their coaches have been in their programs for generations. We are lucky to have him and continue to win 9-10 games a year. We'd be losing 30 games a year if he wasn't our coach.
On a serious note though, with the advantage of hindsight, I'm glad he got another year. My interest so far this season has been peaked with some of the changes the coaches have admitted needed to be made. I'd like to see more of actually implementing some of these changes as far as simplifying, and talented players seeing the field over older, more experienced players. Still, I think we have a legit shot this year at the Big Ten title. Winning that would prove that keeping him was the right choice. I really just want to see us continue to improve more than anything. We have definitely made some strides this year.
