I've never understood why going back to a first time head coach is something we would want considering Bo Pelini is a first time head coach.

The only advantage to having Scott come back is it might reunite the fan base. Neither side seems to want to admit they are wrong or close to it. I really do not think he would be the hire if anything happened though,, for those very same concerns. We have been gaining experience for 6 years, no one in their right mind wants to start over if it can be avoided.
My comments were to suggest that Oregon was better than they finished, due to Mariota's injury, and his warrior attitude. We have seen what can happen with that. My guess is if Scott was not qualified enough for Boise State's vision, he would certainly come up short for ours. Down the road a few years possibly

Lots of folks think maybe the magic can be recreated with a first time coach?..Doubt it would happen, but I can see the misplaced? logic.
Frosty probably proved this season that he wasn't ready to be an OC much less a Head Coach, but hopefully he will learn from his mistakes...Boise State was a reach, but I don't blame him for trying for it...They're like a coaching factory...Plus folks like you couldn't b!^@h about him being a "first timer" when we "lose our lunatic"..
Nebraska isn't the "destination job" it used to be..I think the main reason some want Frost to end up coaching here is the belief that we wouldn't be a stepping stone job for him...Although he did go outside to play at Stanford at one time.

Holy cow. Facts and statistics. Oregon's problem this season was their front 7 on D. The O purred like a kitten until Mariot'a got hurt. Then it was still pretty good.

still doesnt say he is unqualified to be a HC. might actually point to the prior OC being a micro-managing HC.
