Gary Sharpe said on his radio show this morning if it's not Frost he thinks it might be Kevin Sumlin.
Gary Sharpe said on his radio show this morning if it's not Frost he thinks it might be Kevin Sumlin.
that Sharp quote is also being misrepresented on here. He was asked the question "other than the Golden Child, who would you like to see as the head coach of Nebraska?" and he answered "Kevin Sumlin"
From everything I hear, Frost wasn't happy that he didn't get the job when Riley was hired. If he thought he had enough experience then, why would he not think it now. There appears to be many schools who do believe he has enough experience though. Time will tell, but there have been many successful coaches with less experience.
It is true that no official decision has been made, but the decision has been made.
Adam Rittenberg of ESPN reached out to some current college coaches and asked them to handicap the UCLA and Florida jobs. Both have great recruiting bases. Florida has a slightly better track record as a consistent national power and plays in the SEC, but with that comes the fishbowl. On the other side, Kelly knows the Pac-12 and could be a little more anonymous in Los Angeles than he would in Gainesville, something that is thought to appeal to Kelly.
But beyond those differences most of the coaches who spoke to Rittenberg were offering some variation of this answer:
"Florida obviously is the better job, but does it fit him?" a Pac-12 coordinator said. "He should take the job that fits him, regardless of perception. Without knowing him ... UCLA probably would be a better fit."
If the west coast sources are right on this and Kelly ends up at UCLA, where does Florida turn? I would guess back to Scott Frost, if the Gators ever really turned away, that is. I also would guess that Oregon head coach Willie Taggart can’t be that far down the Gators’ list either, which would have other ramifications.
The 7 years and 35 million is a accurate. The contract has been agreed to. Florida wanted him to sign for 5 years and less money. He wanted a longer contract and we had to counter with more money. We will not be outbid.
Mike Riley knows he is not coming back. He was told three weeks ago.
GBR!
Adam Carriker predicted SF as next Husker HC! Nothing ground breaking in what he said, but it's nice to hear a more national guy predict it at least.

4.5-5 million per year for Frost to stay at UCF according to this guy.
I go to the church that the frosts go to. They literally say that they don't know whether or not he would come back.
Students reporting that players were asked to leave class early for an emergency team meeting. MORE RUMORS, MORE COMMENTS, MORE VIEWS, LET'S RIDE THIS HYPE TRAIN STRAIGHT TO ORLANDO.
This was posted on another message board:
Per Matt Reynoldson of Husker Online:
Here's what I know:
Senior football players (the only sample size, may have been more) received a notification on their phones to attend a meeting. It's not confirmed that it was a team meeting.
This happened around 1:30 p.m., two hours before the "scheduled" start of Tuesday practice (for those of you that played high school/college sports, you know that if you're not a half hour early, you're late).
There is no confirmation that it was an "emergency" meeting either, so it very well could have been a direction to just show up early to the facility for a pre-practice meeting.
Since the players who received the notification were seniors, keep in mind that Friday is their last game. From how I've understood it in the past - could be wrong - they plan out the Senior Day festivities early in the week and typically don't take time out of the day-before-game walkthrough.
Just wanted to let everyone know I was 100% sure Frost is coming to NU....well my percentage has changed......
I am now 200% confident Frost is coming to NU after my most recent conversation.
Riley will be relieved of his duties on black friday. Not the day after etc. That is currently Bills plan.
Just know it is going to he Friday per what I was just told
Yes unless something changes on when Frosts wants it announced prior to that.Still on track for a Dec. 3 announcement if UCF plays in CCG?
Correct. They are willing to counter if any of these new openings try to make a play. Both Scott and his agent know thisMoney
And we still don't care lol Moos has been told whatever it takes.
He's coming. He asked for more money already and we said not a problem
I'm nowhere near as plugged in as Hedley, but the one thing I have been told over and over from a person in a position to know is that Nebraska's heavy hitters were not messing around this time and that Moos would be given all the resources he needed to get the job done right. What I really love is that Green and Moos didn't really even attempt to hide the fact that Scott was THE target. That's a huge risk if you don't know you can land him, but it sounds like that was a matter of being able to hit the right number.
You heard it here first. My cousin in the athletic department told me Scott Frost to NU is a done deal, 8 year 48 million after a late push by UCLA. Hiring will be announced Monday regardless of UCF-USF game.
Heard the Moos asked several of the vocal boosters to “show me the money” and they did pretty quick.
I was wrong about Riley announcement Friday. Will hold press conference on Saturday now.
Well Hedly, that ties up the only bit of information I had that was a little different from what you've stated as I knew there were several folks on call for a Saturday announcement. If they aren't announcing Frost at the same time, it seems like that presser will be very short as I see no for Riley to be there.
Do you see any chance that they announce Frost on Saturday even if UCF beats USF? Otherwise, this state is going to go bat $hip crazy (fueled by the media) if we're coach-less for a week.
