I like the list. Pretty spot on in my opinion. Neil Smith could maybe be a bit higher, he was a monster. Wistrom was one of the greatest of all time, he fits right in there at 3. A lot of haters will hate on Jason Peter, but no doubt he's one of the greatest to ever come through this University. A name I think could be added is Tomich, he could be right up there maybe just outside the top 10. We have just had so many damn great defensive linemen play at this University. It's incredible when you think about it. No doubt Suh probably one of the greatest Huskers of all time, and definitely belongs at the top of this list. I was born in 81' so I missed out on some of these guys, but I've seen highlights and Glover was an absolute monster. Would some of you old timers change Glover to 1 and Suh to 2 ? What say you? Would you add anyone? Switch someone's position on the list?

Suh and Glover 1 and 2 are fine.. it's more like 1 and 1a anyways.

I'd put Jacobson and Smith at 3 and 4 though with Wistrom at 5 and Noonan at 6.

Then 7 8 and 9 (Meylan, Peter and Harper) could basically be in any order and it wouldn't be right or wrong IMO, Walker at 10 is good.

Great to see Kenny Walker make the list. Dude was a beast, and didn't let a little thing like deafness slow him down. I remember the "applause" the fans gave him on Senior Day. The sign for "applause" is basically like Jazz Hands (think Robin Williams in The Birdcage). 70-80,000 people doing Jazz Hands in Memorial Stadium was pretty cool.

We could use a Kenny Walker or five on defense right about now.

 
Couldn't agree more about Kenny Walker. Not only was he a great Husker, but as a Broncos fan, I loved watching him play for both my teams. He was a hell of a player for both.

 
Rich Glover had the most dominating game I've ever seen by any player in the Game of the Century.

I don't know, I think Suh in the Big 12 championship game vs Texas was better. You can argue that we lost that game (and of course you can argue that we really didn't), but we shut Texas down that day, whereas in '71 we had to outscore Oklahoma. Glover had an outstanding game, but, and I'm going from memory not having watched it in a few years, I seem to remember Glover darting around Brahaney a number of times, and once in awhile he got burned by taking himself out of the play when they'd come quick up the middle on the other side of Brahaney. Then again, Brahaney was an All-American, and Glover clearly got the better of him.

Anyway, I'd put Suh #1 or #1a.

 
Looks like a pretty good list. We could use any of those guys today.

A couple others who could easily have been included are Terry Connealy and John Parrella.

20+ tackles against that Wishbone offense, is more impressive than Suh's game against Texas, and it really isn't that close IMO. As pointed out Glover was going up against an AA in Brahney, and Suh was having his way with a mishmash OL unit that wasn't lights out impressive that year on a good Texas team.

If you recall Boomer burned NU with the pass that game, because of the success that NU's DLine was having. Also when you watch the BigXII title game, as diruptive as Suh was he had a lot of time to get to McCoy because that secondary was lights out, an advantage thatGlover far from had.

1 and 1a, Co Number 1 is probably more like it.

 
Glover was a monster, actually small for his time. Add another 30 pounds to that kid and oh my god, he would have been all you needed on the Dline. Suh was very good, but really not close to Glover against quality players. Glover did it all year long against every top Oline he played. It was not just a single game.

Suh overall may have played against better talent, due to the game changing and developing, but nothing was as impressive as watching Glover destroy Olines no matter what they tried to stop him. Monster is all I can think of to describe him.
