I'm sure this will ruffle some feathers. But it'll be a good test run for doing the same thing with football sometime soon.

To ensure Nebraska Volleyball remains a leader both on and off the court, we are taking proactive steps to strengthen our foundation. The expansion of John Cook Arena in the Bob Devaney Sports Center to over 10,000 will allow us to continue to grow the game and give more fans the opportunity to experience Nebraska Volleyball. We must embrace the evolution of intercollegiate athletics and find ways to preserve our financial model.

This year we will conduct a comprehensive reseating of season tickets in the John Cook Arena at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. This marks the first full reseating in Nebraska Volleyball program history, and it reflects a commitment to access, sustainability, and long-term success.

The 2026 Volleyball Reseat Process will:
  • Honor the loyalty of current season ticket holders by prioritizing and guaranteeing they will have an option to select seats during the 2026 Volleyball Reseat.
  • Create clear pathways for Huskers Athletic Fund members and season ticket holders to secure and upgrade Nebraska Volleyball season tickets.
  • Expand access through revised ticket limits so more fans can secure season tickets.
  • Secure our financial model and generate the resources for Nebraska Volleyball to set the standard in Division I Athletics.
  • Reward Huskers Athletic Fund members who give generously and support our culture of excellence and tradition of winning championships.

A 5 minute window sounds stressful. That's probably just me.

I love that they're increasing capacity to 10,000+. Strike while the interest in volleyball is rising.

That might just be worded poorly. In the past, you can access the system starting at your assigned window, but then you can make a selection any time after that. I'm guessing it's supposed to be each new window opens up every five minutes so if you don't make your selection within that five minutes, there will be more people with access who might make a selection before you do.

Yes, the wording was just bad:

We plan to notify all participants one month prior to the first reservation to ensure you can make arrangements. However, if you miss your reservation, you can log in at a later time to view current inventory and make your selection, but you may forfeit options as other participants make their selections.
