Secondary Inspired by '03 success

Five-Star Recruit
Marvin Sanders' intent might have been to light a small fire under Nebraska safety Larry Asante, but he ended up with an inferno.
he Husker secondary coach recently pulled out some tapes from 2003, when Sanders held the same position at NU and head coach Bo Pelini was defensive coordinator.

Why not? What better example to show? That secondary helped Nebraska tie the single-season school record by forcing 47 turnovers.

They got em talking the talk; can't wait to see them walkin the walk!

!!!!!!!!!!BLACKSHIRTS!!!!!!!!!!!

While Fabian and the Bullocks were studs we also had meh talents in Ricketts and MacPherson. I'd say in terms of overall ability this group could be considedered competitive with 03.

As much as people pan Ricketts' performance that year, he was reliable as a nickel in most situations.

It remains to be seen if this squad has the talent of 2003. The bar is set pretty high when you have to live up to a first-round draft pick and two guys who get tons of NFL playing time. Here's to hoping that Asante & Co. can become the head hunting Mike Brown-esque players we all want them to be.

Schematically it helps to get interceptions when you've got 2-4 jerseys around the ball when it's thrown. But as they say, success starts with attitude, and it's nice to see the attitude resurfacing. It can only mean they're working that much harder.

Yeah, the D needs to get their swagger back.

Boy, that got my adrenaline going. I was only going to pay for two of the first three games, it will be all three now. My kids told me that I would 3 weeks ago, I guess they know me better than I do.

This might be a special season in the making.

GBR!!!

I'm just hoping that our boys actually attack that ball when its in the air and PLEASE look at the ball when it's in the air instead of the receiver.

I just hope all this confidence and attitude translates to hits, tackles, sacks, int's, forced fumbles, etc, etc. Not too mention bruised ego's for our opponents
