Senior Day

BigRedDallasTexan

Five-Star Recruit
This saturday will only be my third game in Memorial Stadium, and i've never been to a game on senior day. Just hoping you guys could fill me in on any of the extra activities that go on so i'll be ready.

Extra Duty #1: Cheer for the Huskers even when they start the game 14-0

Extra Duty #2: Don't blame Bill Callahan or anyone else for the loss.

Extra Duty #3: When Kansas State has their best game in twelve seasons... it's not anyone's fault but Jesus' for coming down and putting a jersey on for the opposing team.

Enjoy yourself! Have Fun!

GBR!!!

They don't do anything special, except have a video on the seniors, of which, most I will never have heard of, and then during the tunnel walk, or maybe it's before they announce all the seniors, one by one.

Good to know. I'm planning on tailgating right up to kick off so i didn't want to miss anything special before the game but it doesn't seem like i will.

Lucky wants to play well for Husker seniors

Thursday, Nov 10, 2005 - 10:53:01 am CST

Freshman Marlon Lucky, considered a rising star in the Nebraska football program, said he will have fellow I-back Cory Ross in mind Saturday when the Huskers play Kansas State at Memorial Stadium.

“We have to come out and play strong for him and the rest of the seniors,” said Lucky, mindful that it’ll be the last home game for 22 Husker seniors, including Ross.

“He’s been a big influence on me,” Lucky said. “He taught me a lot about the offense, a lot of techniques and stuff.”

While Ross easily leads the team with 639 rushing yards, Lucky has been limited to 86 yards on 30 carries.

However, the 6-foot, 210-pound Lucky, of North Hollywood, Calif., flashed big-time potential last week against Kansas with a 100-yard kickoff return that was called back because of an illegal block in the back.

Lucky has shown recent progress as a kickoff return man and now has 11 returns for 258 yards, an average of 23.5 yards. He had a 57-yard return against the Jayhawks.

Nebraska fans are seeing why Lucky’s high school opponents kicked away from him during his senior season.

“My sophomore and junior years, I did a lot of returning,” he said. “But as a senior, I think I only got two touches, because teams either sky-kicked or squibbed it.”

Lucky said he feels comfortable as a kick returner.

“It’s easier for me to read the holes,” he said.

However, he said he has no desire to be a punt returner.

“It’s more dangerous,” he said.
