Sherlock (BBC) **Spoilers**

Been wanting to check out the Sherlock Holmes that BennyChico mentioned above.
Definitely do. And it's just called "Sherlock"...don't confuse it with the movie. It's kind of a modern day Sherlock Holmes

It's only been around for 3 or 4 shows. They're supposed to be continuing the series soon...but the first few got me hooked.

They just added season 2 of Sherlock!
I've been watching this. It's GREAT! First episode of the second season is just a tremendous show.

I put True Detective on hold because season 4 of Sherlock came out on Netflix and that's one of my favorite shows. S4:E1 was really good.

I'm interested in your thoughts after you finish season 4.

Through episodes one and two. I don't want to rush to judgement on it (perhaps ep. 3 will blow me away) but I've been somewhat disappointed so far, but I can't quite put my finger on why. It somehow all seems a bit more haphazard or chaotic, but more-so in a way that suggests laziness rather than intent.

knapplc, I finished season 4 of Sherlock.

I think it's my least favorite of the series.

The whole season felt rushed and chaotic, but in a way that made it seem like the producers weren't sure what direction to take the show. I think episode one was the best because it felt like it had a lot of depth, whereas episode 2's villain didn't appear well thought out and Holmes' sister being the smartest maniac in the world just felt a little bit like 'really?'

Definitely agree.

There had long been speculation that there was another Holmes sibling, but this was a pretty weak installment. Not just a sibling, but a SUPER sibling with a SUPER brain that puts Mycroft's already superior intellect to shame. It just seems like stacking yet another scoop of ice cream on top of the cone. Season 4 didn't live up to the promise of the series, and Eurus was an uncompelling character. All those references to "an East wind" were her, and yet we're supposed to believe that Sherlock just washed her from his memory after that horrible childhood... eh. It was too much to stomach.

I would like there to be another season of Sherlock. They have to resist the urge to one-up themselves, and just get back to telling stories. That's when the show is at its best.

Split the Sherlock posts of of the Netflix thread so someone can explain to me what I just watched (The Final Problem).

This seems to be the issue - they fell prey to one of the great blunders (not a land war in Asia). They thought they had to go "bigger" and "better" but I don't think that's how it turned out.

There surely can't be another season after that, can there? I mean ... I'd like there to be. But I can't see how there will be.
