Short yardage back

Ducky? no seriously Helu put on weight in order to be an every down back this offseason. He'll get every opportunity to get those carries.

My guess would be that Burkhead/ Okafor will split reps behind Helu, similarly to the way Helu/ Castille split reps behind Lucky during their freshman year. Given Okafor's size and performance in the spring game, I would think he would be the likely candidate for the majority of short yardage carries.

I guess we really won't know until FAU rolls into town. As if we nedded more question marks on the offensive side of the ball......... <_<

Helu...

Helu was a better short yardage back anyway IMO. I have always thought that, sure Castille was bigger, but he seemed to be better on toss' and sweeps where he could get a head of steam.

Helu reminds me of Tiki Barber being a smaller guy who can really hammer out the short yardage stuff by just being patient and then finding the right hole and exploding through it for a few yards.

What about one of the TEs? We have some pretty big guys, like Dreu Young and Ryan Hill, who could hold on to the ball but who would be a load to take down in short yardage.
