My thoughts as well. Tom wouldn't want the distraction, the attention, or being made much of. - But it would be cool regardless. The fan in me thinks it would be pretty cool but knowing how humble Dr. Tom is I doubt it happens.
And don't forget - all of the coaches need to wear those red pants that Tom wore back in the day.Would be cool to see a lot of option plays and fullback handoffs on Saturday. And maybe the coaches can all put their names on their headsets with an old school label-maker.
I hope the video gets put out to public after the game. I made plans to see my grandmother on Saturday and won't be able to make it to the gameThe salute to Tom will be at halftime. Got this email earlier today.
With the impending end of an outstanding career as coach and administrator at the University of Nebraska, a tribute to Tom Osborne has been planned for the Huskers final game this season. Tom Osborne will retire his current position as athletic director on Jan. 1, 2013. His five-year stint as a successful administrator follows a stellar career as Nebraska’s head football coach when his teams won 255 games, 13 conference championships and three national titles in 25 years. Saturday’s game against Minnesota, which kicks off at 2:42 p.m. on Saturday will be Tom Osborne’s 500th in his career.
At Nebraska’s final home game this season, fans in attendance will have an opportunity to pay tribute to Tom during pregame and halftime festivities. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats a half hour prior to the game in order to enjoy all pregame activities, including a special band performance and senior introductions before the Tunnel Walk. Fans in attendance will have an opportunity to salute the Osborne family at halftime and to view a special video tribute to Tom. So please plan to come early, stay late and be loud!
Thank you for your continued support, and GO BIG RED!
I formation baby! Cool tribute to show that his offense is still effective.Would be cool to see a lot of option plays and fullback handoffs on Saturday. And maybe the coaches can all put their names on their headsets with an old school label-maker.
Didnt we have a couple kids that are terminally ill lead the team during the tunnel walk? just a few weeks ago?Why would it be a slap in the face to Bo? We're honoring a former coach and soon to be former AD. Teams do this all the time. The chiefs honored Will Shields several years ago at half time. In all fairness to the seniors and Bo this moment would be for the fans...not even TO.
And didn't we have a kid that was terminally ill or something like that call a play several years ago?
WHAT?Due to NCAA rules, would he actually be able to call a play, since he is not one of the coaches?
