Should Vick get to play in the NFL?

I'm not condoning what Donte Stallworth did, or am I coming to his defense, but, he's done something not one other NFL'er can say when they've done something wrong.

He fessed up to it. He called the cops, turned himself in. Granted he was driving under the influence, but at least he man'd up to it. Not like Vick, etc.
Additionally, as I recall, the gentleman that was killed also walked into traffic against the light or something similar. It doesn't excuse Stallworth's culpability, but as you noted, unlike Vick he did was he was supposed to do in that situation. And unlike Vick, it wasn't an on-going series of crimes over the course of years, with multiple defendents for whom it made it possible to break the law.

I'm 100% sure Vick will play again. Someone is going to sign him, the question is will he have a major impact on a team again? I personally don't believe he will, and especially not at QB. When he was playing he was middle of the pack QB with outstanding athleticism, and a horribly inconsistent arm. I've heard talking heads say he may not play QB, the problem is, Vick is too soft to play any other position full time. So what's his value really going to be?

All that still won't stop some team (probably my Raiders  ) from droping a couple million to find out that he's just as average of a player as he's always been in the NFL. Only now he'll be nearly 30.

He will be a Raider by week 7. He will also be horrible. Raider fan torture continues to the delight of niner fans like myself.
Hey now! just for that..............................

I love this board, I always get a few good laughs each day.

p.s. He can go any where, but not my Vikes.............

GBR!!!

Vick got thrown to the dogs.

Okay, maybe a poor choice of words, but it's true. We have someone that KILLED ANOTHER HUMAN BEING, but got a LIGHTER sentence than Vick. Yeah, what Vick was doing over an extended period of time and it was horrible, but I think getting behind the wheel and killing a human being is worse.

Sorry, but human beings > animals.

Will Vick play again? Yes, I'm sure he will.
Two things, one Vick would have avoided jail time had he admitted what he had done, instead of repeatedly lying about his involvement to authorities. While Stallworth on the other hand, wasn't trying to kill anyone, it was an accident.

Secondly, I'm no PETA wackoo, but humans beings ARE animals! Just because humans are smart enough to decide what other animals live or die, doesn't give us the right to indiscriminately kill anything that isn't human.

So, what's your logic here? You can kill people as long as you admit to it?

Let me tell you something. Being drunk and driving is not an accident. It impairs your judgment and reflexes. There's a pretty good reason why it is illegal.

It shocks me when I hear people say this was an accident. No, it wasn't. Imagine one of your loved ones being killed by a drunk driver and then people turning around and calling it an "accident". How would you feel about it?

Yeah, you're right. Humans are animals, but that doesn't change the fact that Stallworth killed a human being.

Look. Vick and Stallworth both did horrible things. They both deserve harsh consequences and I just think Stallworth got off the hook relatively easy.

Whether you, me or we like it or not, Michael should and will play again. It might seem like a PR nightmare, but that nightmare could also be a wet dream for some of the league's cellar dwellers looking to make a quick splash and a buck. He's young and still one of the best athletes in the game. He's paid his supposed "debt to society" and someone will give him a shot.

I don't think he should get the chance to play again, nor do I think anyone who took the life of another human being by being intoxicated while driving should get a chance either. These guys are supposed to be so called "role models" and need to act accordingly.
didn't the guy who just ran over someone get a lighter sentence than Vick earlier this year? The more i think about it, I think he should be banned, ban all of them that is convicted of a felony, it gets tougher for us to get a job if there is a conviction on our records (i think) so why should these ding-dongs get the chance to make millions again, the more i think about this the more it just pisses me off :boxosoap
That's why I said none of them should get a second chance, screw 'em, they have all the talent in the world and are doing a job that most of us would love to have the ability to do. If they screw that chance up by doing stupid $hit like this I say ban them for life and watch them disappear.
