Should we fire Satterfield??

Hopefully something that is fixable particularly for a young qb. This seems to be more of a trend football wide tho- you’re constantly reading from nfl scouts and coaches that qb fundamentals have been trending in the wrong direction. Mahomes is the exception not the rule, seems like so many qbs try and mimic his play style- u mix unorthodox qb play with college teams moving away from under center formations and you get some interesting qb play even in the pros
I think people get the wrong impression on Mahomes.  For most throws when he’s not pressured, he gets in a good traditional throwing stance and he really fires throws into tight spots.

He does the have the ability to contort his hips in order to make throws on the run and his arm slot can change,  it that’s out of necessity, not the norm.    It seems to all of us that DR is doing it as his norm many times and not out of necessity.

One other thing about not stepping into throws and not really wanting to fire darts into tight spaces with most of his throw being floaters…..as someone who played the position (certainly not at his level but that doesn’t matter for this point), when you as a QB are unsure of your decision making or worried about the rush in the back of your mind, you tend to subconsciously throw off your backside instead of getting into it and you tend to not throw the ball with authority because in the back of your mind you are kinda unsure.   It really causes a QB to throw the types of balls we are seeing from Dylan.

just my two cents which aren’t even worth two cents.

Let's give Holgorsen the OC position, then demote Satt to "offensive consultant".  Satterfield can be Rhule's get-back guy.

I'm sure a lot of Husker fans would cringe at knowing that we hired an OC who runs an "air raid" offense, but I think Dana's offensive strategy would work really well with the personnel we have.  Raiola can run when he sets his mind to it, and if he could get good at running RPO and our receivers had sets and routes that would get them open, that would go a long way toward getting Dylan's confidence back.

Woke up this morning hoping for Satterfield being fired or demoted & find we just hired another coach.  Why spend the money.  Please take out the trash!
Have you ever tried to fire your friends or family? It’s tougher than you think. I mean, Rhule could lose a longterm friendship with Mr. McGuire.

Another thing that seems to be a problem lately.  Raiola is bailing out before he needs to.

We pick up the blitz pretty well.  Protection is good.  But he just starts running around.  He is just panicing.

Unsure on this play, but others show WRs not even out their turns & he is running.  This is on Satterfield to call plays to get the ball out of his hand sooner.  It seems like his calls are less than 5 yards & more than 30.  He needs to be more creative.

Makes total sense, I played safety for a D2 team for 2 years and this is why I always loved to put a qb on his back side, even if it drew the flag ;)

Or coach Dylan to get back to his check downs. If he would have sat tight and settled his feet after his initial bail Rahmir released wide open, but then Dylan darts right and Rahmir tries to go with him to help him out.

I disagree.  When you run the same plays & have no creativity, def are going to be ready.  This is why our offense has under performed.

No.  We run a lot of different concepts.

To your first point, as @ZRod said, there are a lot of short routes available.  Against Ohio State, there was at least one short/quick option available on basically every play.  Raiola just won't throw them, even when they are the primary look.

Theres a lot of reasons as to what’s broken boys- no one right answer. To me, our offense is going to continue to look like a broken uphill climb until we have a sufficient running attack.  No offense and tweak is going to fix constant 2nd and longs. Any passing concept can get snuffed out if a defense can just drop 7-8 in coverage on known passing plays. Our redzone efficiency is in the s#!tter, partly cause of the fg issues early on but more so the fact we can’t move s#!t on the ground

dylan is a true freshman qb, we knew there would be growing pains regardless of his recruiting ranking. We’ve done him and this team a complete disservice by putting this whole offense on his shoulders with no complimentary rushing attack to speak of
