You mention something that I’ve mentioned. Is Raiola passing on guys he should be hitting? He’s going through a progression. That’s a good thing. But, are there guys he should be pulling the trigger on?
I was hoping things would be better in year 2, but it seems like the play calling is repetitive & not creative. In fact, I think the play calling is the reason for Dylan's regression. It appears we are recruiting better skill players out of HS but the o-line is still an issue. I hope Dylan does not get frustrated & leave!
I stuck up for Riola when Ruhle kept him as the line coach. I still think we need better recruits, but when does his recruits get better.I'd like to be a fly on the wall where he and coach(es) have conversations about the O-Line. I doubt if he'd exactly throw them under the bus.. but I'd like to know if he's frustrated about that and talks to the coach(es).
I would have to back and look up specific names but how about evaluating the really good OC’s who got HC jobs and failed at that. Some coaches are just not HC material but are great at game planning and coordinating one side of the ballProbably already been answered, but legit, who would we realistically replace him with? I'm fine with showing him the door, his attack is one of the most pedestrian and predictable I've ever seen.
Things that bother me:
Rhule talking about needed to establish/ stick w the run but 6 of our first 7 plays are passes.
Obvs running back rotation is wrong.
Raiola stands back there and pats the ball…until something bad happens. Constantly throwing off his back foot.
Does anyone else think he is passing up open shorter looks to try longer shots? Move the chains. This isn’t high school.
Where is some inventive quick pass game?
The quick out where our receivers can’t block, or if they do they get called for penalties. How many time do we need to watch that?
We have 2 big bodied receivers and no slant game?
This goes back to what seems like a lack of coaching going on for him at this point. It sure looks like it when I watch the games. I can't help but wonder if he is still thinking like high school, and he can just out arm talent the competition
I hope he isn’t passing up open short receivers/backs because of that. It’s not his job to worry about that. It’s his job to throw it to the open person and assume they will do their job. But I certainly can see where issues like that can play mind games on a young QB.It does bring up another point though....can anybody on this team break a tackle? Maybe he's passing on the shorter stuff bc our guys fall down as soon as someone touches them
My take is two areasI stuck up for Riola when Ruhle kept him as the line coach. I still think we need better recruits, but when does his recruits get better.

Do we have to wait until the end of the year?Just got around to listening to this and I could not have agreed more. It’s baffling that Rhule can’t see this now or even didn’t see this when hiring Satt. It really is a huge indictment on Matt Rhule’s decision making IMO. The offensive game plan needs fixed sooner rather than later and OC needs replaced at the end of the year to someone who has a proven track record of success with a pro style offense.
