I haven't seen the film but Steve Sipple of the Lincoln Journal Star commented that when looking at his film you have to realize he is going against the top talent in Texas. He may not be standing out on film because of that.Measurables are often not what they appear. Film, on the other hand, can be enlightening as regards actual speed. In looking at Tray on film, he is nowhere near the speed or quickness of a safety. In fact, he has questionable speed for an OLB as well. An ILB or beef him up and place him at DE, maybe.Perfect measurables for a strong safety...On defense would a smallish pass rush DE specialist be a possibility (with say 10-15 pounds on him)?looking at the rivals free board there is a topic that states his is the newest commitment.
This kid is a tough runner, not a blazer, watch his film and he breaks a lot of tackles..... he also has great hands and can catch the ball which is important. I see us taking at least 1 more rb, and I think we are looking for a shifty speed back to break the long runs..... burkhead?
keep in mind, he also has the size and strength to play on D if need be.
I think some people are concerned with the lack of a rating thus far. My thought is that coaches at Trinity contacted our staff (or vise versa) letting them know this is a guy worth taking a look at, and we are getting in on him ahead of the game.I'm not quite sure why so many people are dismissing him as a RB. He might not have break away speed, but he is by no means slow. In his video he is out running safeties and shows a decent burst when hitting the hole. And for a "big back" he is quite elusive, has quick feet and shows good hands coming out of the backfield.
No position ranking but they have him rated at 5.7 which they take to mean:Awarded :star :star :star per Rivals
Also from the rivals link is a video which looks pretty good. Looks to have good instincts as a runner.5.7-5.5 All-Region Selection; considered among the region's top prospects and among the top 750 or so prospects in the country; high-to-mid-major prospect; deemed to have pro potential and ability to make an impact on college team

In case anybody cares: just dropped to a :star :star per Scout and slipped to #107 in the ranks. I noticed this while cruising on scout.com.Awarded :star :star :star by Scout.com. Also the #93 RB.
Scouts a frickin joke, have they even seen his film????In case anybody cares: just dropped to a :star :star per Scout and slipped to #107 in the ranks. I noticed this while cruising on scout.com.Awarded :star :star :star by Scout.com. Also the #93 RB.
This rating will change during the course of the year as last year he shared the back field with a senior. He was mostly their short-yardage guy. This year he is the man.I guess he's not as good of a football player as he was just a day ago. :sarcasm
Of course as I am writing this, I notice he is now 3 :star , #58 on Scout so maybe just a mistake. Considering how high ESPN and Rivals are on him, I was having trouble figuring out what Scout knew that nobody else did.Robinson rushed for 885 yards and 17 touchdowns in 11 games. He missed the first five rounds of the playoffs after suffering a broken ankle but returned for Trinity's 13-10 victory over Converse Judson in the 5A state championship game.
