Oh no. There have been several I believe. Kevin Raemaekers back in about 1990 comes to mind. And Bill LaFleur.

La Fleur started out as a walk-on, but eventually did earn a scholarship when he became starting punter.

I had an english class with him our freshman year, and he wrote so many things about football.

He had a nice run in the NFL, too.

 
Good for this kid, and he gets to go to his dream school. Makes me wonder if NU should have been offering him earlier, but I understand the coaches were after some bigger fish and thought they had a commitment in Fitz.

NU will probably need him to be at least a contributor in 2017. NU doesn't have many TE bodies that will be around after 2016.

Redshirt this kid and get him to a position that he can add depth.
