Nebraska Cornhuskers (9-5)

If college football had free agency, the Huskers landing Sam Keller as their starting quarterback for 2007 would be the equivalent of the Yankees picking up some veteran ace just in time for the playoff stretch. The former ASU star could make an already promising offense even more potent.

First game: Saturday vs. Nevada.

Actually Howie Mandel should make a pre-season ranking/power list too. I think it's a joke to rank teams before you've seen them play a real snap, let alone real competition. Sure everyone knows USC is in all likelyhood #1, but why is Oklahoma up there without a QB? Why should we be #13 after losing our best passing QB? Who's to say that Baylor might be ranked.....OK....that was a little too far.
