How many cases of beer do you owe for that?

The guys on my league team, except for me and two other guys, are not worth a sh#t. We're 0-12 so far.

I've got a pretty solid coed team, though. Got 2nd in a tournament a few weeks ago though, and we've got a couple more tourneys coming up.

I work for an internet tech support company, and we just started play about a week ago. Initially I thought we may be decent, as we have 3 athletes on our team, but DAMN was I mistakin! We played a doubleheader, winning the first game against some lousy team, but we got annihilated 36-4 in the second game. This team hit 5 grand slams on us :facepalm: , it was crazy!

Well, we won by the 10 run rule, so they just gave me hell the rest of the night...pretty embarassing...then, then next time up, I got thrown out at third trying to stretch a triple...bad night on the diamond for ol' Killer Cacti.

We're still undefeated, so I can't really complain.

 
I'm about 5'10 and I'm not a powerful hitter but I came close from knocking one out of the park yesterday but our team still sucks.....we've only one 1 game and we're 1-12 overall lol

 
Status Update: My work team is still dreadful, we are like 1-15 now. There is good news though, I have hit 2 homers in this league!

My church league team is doing great. Last Thursday we beat an undefeated team, and the post season looks pretty promising!

 
Got a cool story for you guys after last night's practice.

First of all, I feel like I am really starting to hit the ball better. I parked two HR's yesterday batting Righty, and one Lefty while at practice yesterday.

So, later on in practice I am playing shortstop and someone crushes a liner between short and 3rd...I throw my glove at the ball, while it is in mid air, and the ball goes right in the glove, spins around in the air a few times, hits the ground, and THE BALL IS STILL IN THE GLOVE. It was a thing of beauty.

 
They just released our 9-team league standings and after 5 games we are tied for 2nd but come to find out, we have beat the teams that we were suppose to beat and lost to the team with the best record. We play the other second place team tonight so theoreticly it should be a good game.

Faced a pitcher in the last game that thought he was the next Unit, problem was he couldn't find the plate. Seriously the first two ABs I had nothing to swing at, I was halfway to first before ball 4 hit the glove both times. The last AB I just waited for the closest one to try to get ahold of. We were up like 17-8 so I was just trying to crush one, the first pitch I fouled straight back, then the second pitch I tomahawked into right center for a double.

So we'll see how tonight goes..........

You must play USSSA rules. I can't stand playing that style of softball. Especially when the pitcher tries to get cute and pumps the ball about 11 times before be actually tosses it. When they do that, I like to line drive it back in his grill. :steam

 
Had the first games of summer league yesterday, and have a couple of stories.

Our first game yesterday, I was playing SS, and there was a guy running to 3rd base, so I throw the ball to 3rd. Our 3rd baseman goes to tag the runner, and the runner jukes our 3rd baseman out, stepping WAYYY the f#*k out of the baseline. The ump doesn't call him out. So, I'm PISSED off, and ask how he is safe when he stepped a mile out of the baseline. The call ended up standing, so I decide that since juking, and running out of the baseline is now legal, then I am going to do the same thing. My next at bat, I hit a single to get on. The next girl up to bat hits a dinker in between SS and 2nd base, so at this point I am sprinting to 2nd base, and the SS mishandles the ball. So, the 3rd baseman is now right by second base, and he picks up the ball, thinking that I am going to stop. I keep cruising around, as there is nobody covering third..I round third and am now running toward home, hoping that the catcher will get the ball. Catcher gets the ball and she is down on her knees..I fake like I am going to the right, and dive left..my hand touches home plate. Safe. Revenge was very, very sweet.

The second game, some huge guy smashed one to SS, and as I was going to field it, it took a crazy hop and jacked me in the knee. I could hardly walk after that...it's still pretty swollen.

Church league ended last thursday night. We won our division, losing only one game. In our last game, just like I did in many others, I picked up the ball as I was walking across to 3rd base, my home away from home, and tossed a pitch in. The umpire told me that because I did this, I had to pitch to at least one batter. :WTH So I did, he got a hit, then I went back to 3rd.
