So...did this team finally turn the corner?

I don't know whether or not the team turned the corner, but I will say that Watson turned the corner. We went totally old school Saturday which was a welcomed sight to me. We would have pitched a shutout had it not been for a botched snap. I'm glad we're getting the young guns in there though because we all remember 2002 when Lord had seen very limited time. I feel a lot better about the team than I did a week ago. I think Saturday was a huge confidence builder for the running game and D.

Simply put, No. We beat a team that we were supposed to beat. Given the state of Hokie football this season, it will be tough to say that we turned the corner even after beating them. Conference play looks to be the only way for us to play a quality team and find out.

Agreed. We know nothing about the quality of the NU football team yet. We have played glorified high school teams so far. Until NU plays VT we are no more cognizant of what we have at NU than before the season began. We have an inkling of who may be able to step up (but can they against a real team?), and may say that elements of the team are not where they could be (but have the coaches been holding back?) Who knows?!

We'll see with VT what happens.
