I guess the coaches know but I am not impressed by the guys they are playing either. What say you?

Keep them riding the bench or get em in? :star :dunno :star

"Holt, a senior, and the sophomore Gilleylen were benched after Nebraska lost 9-7 to Iowa State on Oct. 24. NU committed eight turnovers in the defeat.

“The last couple weeks have been very, very interesting at my spot,” said Gilmore, the fifth-year receivers coach. “We've made a lot of adjustments. I'm trying to get guys on the field who want to play every single down, every single snap, every single play. That's what we're trying to accomplish.”

Gilleylen's 16 catches rank second on the team to Niles Paul's 25. Holt has caught 15 passes. Holt and Gilleylen continued this week to work with the scout team as NU prepared to face Oklahoma Saturday night at Memorial Stadium."

Sure, I agree but they have caught the ball, you have 31 passes caught in 7 games 6 if you subrtract MU!

I am not saying start but put them in the rotation. Not sure they will be sounding like demotion is permanent?

Translation: "I have no idea who my playmakers are, and do not really know what I have at the WR spot yet, so I am throwing everything out there to see what sticks. I will probably eventually get it, but it probably won't be until the bowl game...assuming we go to one."

31 catches combined in 7 games isn't anything to brag about. Any two of the top seven WRs for Iowa State can make that claim. That's actually quite pathetic for guys who want to be in our starting rotation.

Virginia Tech, who is known more for their rushing game than their passing game, has WRs that have 26, 19, 17 and 13 receptions on the year.

The bottom line for a WR - CATCH THE BALL. Nothing else matters. When you don't catch, you don't play.
