TA&M and Arkansas could convince Missouri, Georgia and Florida to side with them in voting no which would be enough to block an invite.

Texas will be out if there are 4 no votes.

A&M and Arky are hard nos. 

Missouri is a likely no. 

Vandy might be a no to protect their baseball dominant position. 

LSU may say no- they LIKE playing Bama every year- with new divisions they may not. 

Georgia and Florida might NOT want to be in the same division as Bama. They may say NO as would possibly others in the East looking to advance to the Championship game. 

Would be hilarious to see Texas crawling back on its knees to the BIG12

IF TExas was to make it into the SEC- I wonder if the Refs would job them like they did to Bos team against A&M in the last league game- a Crime.

Championships and having a tough division in football are not reasons for them to say no compared to the stranglehold and bargaining power they will have for absurd amounts of money. 

 
I suppose with the Big 12's collapse, the whole bit about having four playoff spots for five power conferences will soon be a moot point. Might actually make sense for the PAC to take some second-tier Big 12 schools just to beef up their football.

KU and UNC would be my 1-2. Gets the KC area and carryover into StL. Then expands the DMV area. Hoops is where the money is and those two programs will boost the conference profile and footprint. That’s a pipes dream though

Possibly. The revenue would need to increase by at least $90mm plus per yr not to dilute the conference payout.

The math is the current TV deal is $300 million per year- about $21 million per team. In order to break even the additional revenue required would be about $100 million based on the existing SEC payouts of about $45 million per year and the increase in the TV deal. Does OU and Texas add $100 million to the SEC value? I don't know, that seems like a lot.  Once the $90-100 million break even number is hit- every $16 million increase will mean $1 million per team in additional revenue. So now you're getting $50 million per year.  if the incremental revenue is at say $132 million a year- each team would theoretically get an additional $2 million. Is that 4 percent increase enough to go through the hassle? Vandy losing its perch in baseball all the realigned divisions etc

ALSO the Big12 has a penalty clause which would require OU and Texas to lose their media rights and have to pay them to the BIG12. "Existing TV contracts provide further complications. In addition to the SEC's upcoming contract with ESPN, the Big 12 grant of rights agreement includes a clause designed to dissuade teams from looking elsewhere. I'd consider Georgia Tech if we're raiding the ACC. Gets deeper into the south for recruiting, and might be a more plausible addition anyway since you wouldn't have to try and pry them away from in-state rivals.

 
Haven’t seen this mentioned but AAC and/or the Mountain West would welcome this news. 
 

AAC would seem to have the most to

gain to get that vacated seat at the table.  Got some good regional fits between the remaining Texas schools, okie lite and WVU.
