Solich & Crouch, Bo & Martinez

Solich did fairly well when he had a dominant QB. After Crouch left Solich lost 1 or 2 additional games per year and couldn't win a conference championship. What happens to Bo after TM is gone? I have never had a good feeling watching one of Bo's backup QBs. Just imagine how bad this year would have been with Joe Dailey.

It appears Bo has a couple of good QBs in the pipeline - Armstrong (redshirt) and Straton (sp?) (recruit). If they stay they will have a year to develope during TM's senior year.

You could probably say the same thing about Tom Osborne.

Are we forgetting that Bo was coach in 2009 with a torn up Zac Lee at the helm? Oh, and we won 10 games then too.

I liked Frank as a person. And he wasn't bad as a coach. I think he proved that this year until he ended up with like 15 season ending injuries that caused a year in slide. But he had two issues. The first was not wanting to update his coaching staff when they didn't want to do the job. Milt and Young both guys I love personally and give credit to for teaching football either physically could not or would not go on the road to recruit. That put us at a huge disadvantage having the bulk of the recruiting fall on less people. The second problem with Gillespie as RC pissing off recruits, evaluating talent wrong, telling guys rated in the top 5 of their position charts that want to come here that they aren't good enough or that they can come but they'll have to play defense instead of offense etc, etc. We're getting closer to building classes as we'll need in the future so they balance out. But it takes a few cycles. TO addressed a booster group before the game this weekend and talked about what a fantastic job Bo has done winning the games he has and getting us a chance to play for championships. He stated it took him about 8 years to feel like he had the right guys in the system to run what he wanted to run.

I will truly be shocked if Bo is still here after next year. The seat is hot right now and if Bo takes a couple of bad losses next year it will become an inferno. A new AD and Martinez graduating leads me to believe he will either get canned or leave on his own, knowing the following year with a green QB will be no better and he will likely get fired then.

Joe Daily get a bad rap. He was actually probably more fitted skillset wize to run the offense we are utilizing today. He was recruited by Solich to run Solich's offense, with the potential to provide the necassary ariel attack for him to open it up. He was put in a bad place with Callahan's offense. What would happen if our beloved Zach Taylor was forced to run Osborne's offense? Just a thought. I remember in 2003 when we lost to Missour, jesus, Joe Daily was our fricken savior, much like Carnes was supposed to be last year. Solich was roasted for not benching Lord for Daily.

Do you really believe that or do you want to believe that?

I'm sorry to disagree but Bo's seat isn't anywhere near hot with any one of any importance including the new AD. Last week they were working on a new contract to bring teh current one out to 5 years or longer since there are 3 remaining. The only people who think that are mouth breathers on internet forums.
