Recruit chooses football over his modeling career

Paul Myerberg, USA TODAY Sports4p.m. EST February 6, 2013

. . .

David Just of the Morning News says of Crosby: "At 17 he became one of the youngest stars in the industry and posed in Calvin Klein ads for jeans, underwear and the Euphoria fragrance. He has graced the pages of Esquire, GQ and Vanity Fair, to name only a few."

But Crosby also plays a little football, leaving the 18-year-old with a tough decision: Should he continue a potential lucrative modeling career or pursue a career in football?

Signed LOI with SMU. When they say "some guys have all the luck," this is who they're talking about.

SMU?

I would say Joe Mauer had it all at 18 over this guy.

Make hundreds of millions for his hometown baseball team or go to the D1 school of his choice to play football as the US HS player of the year.

"I have a passion for football and I want an education," Crosby said. "This modeling crap could only last another year and then I'd have no education and never get to play football. I'd regret it for the rest of my life."
Also a straight shooter.

I'm surprised he isn't a quarterback.

In the article, it is stating that he can do modeling on the side.

Is this possible if he is under a scholarship? I thought they aren't allowed to work if they are.
