Some stats and notes from Jon Nyatawa

Nebraska's WRs have 77 receptions & 6 drops. That's an elite-level NFL ratio, position coach Rich Fisher said today

NU WRs have hauled in 92.7% of passes that hit their hands this season. Unofficially, last year, that percentage was 77.6

More from Rich Fisher on eliminating drops, the big recruiting weekend & def scout team standouts RIGHT HERE: http://bit.ly/Tkm31B

Fisher on redshirting DT Vincent Valentine, a scout teamer: "When he gets mad, when he gets raging, he becomes almost unblockable"

After visits, the 1st thing recruits say to Fisher: "Man, I can't believe (Husker fans) know my name, and they're asking for my autograph"

So you might as well get educated and read this recruiting roundup by @swmckewonOWH: http://bit.ly/TknSvw #Huskers

I threw that last one in as a bone to JN, since I'm copying all of his tweets this AM. Everyone knows my feelings about our recruiting forums, run by Nexus. But if you feel like visiting the OWH's site, carpe diem.

Yeah, I've noticed our receivers are a LOT better at catching the ball this year. It's like night and day from last year. I don't know if it's due to coaching, the talent of the receivers, or what. But our receivers have improved a bunch from last season. :thumbs :

I think you can credit the work put in by both the receivers and T-Magic. His accuracy on throws is a lot better and the receivers are running better routes with better timing. It's pretty f**kin harmonious

probably both. i think there was some bad blood w/ Kinnie/Paul and Taylor. nothing concrete, just my opinion. last couple of years those two accounted for a large number of our drops. every guy is going to drop a few, but it certainly seemed to be a glaring issue the last couple of years. but the talent level is much improved. taylor's passing has as well. you could see an immediate difference in the southern miss game. they caught everything - some of which were damn near uncatchable. seeing guys way down on the depth chart, like steven osborne and taariq allen coming in and making huge catches shows you how deep they are.

at least now we don't have to listen to bshirt explain away our offensive struggles (thankfully there are few) to drops this offseason.

The receivers are so much better this year that it is hard to put into words. When people said before the season that Nebraska had the best receivers in the conference, I was very skeptical because of their dropped pass issues. But they've definitely turned the page this year. Good work by Coach Fisher.

It amazes me when you can say that Nebraska has atleast 5 pass catchers on the team right now that will be in the NFL someday....

Enunwa, Bell, Turner, Cotton, Reed..... The future seems bright for guys like Tariq Allen, and Jordan Westerkamp as well....

We have so much talent on offense, if only we could get out of our own way.....

When you have great an improvement w/ basically the same players... then player maturity as they experience plays a roll --- but it is certain that coaching emphasis played a huge roll. Well done coach Fisher.

Throw Cotton in there as well. The line we have this year is WAY better than last year. For as much grief (deserved) that Cotton got the last few years, this year's line has been worlds better.

The "Fire Barney" threads have been few and far between this year. Good job, Cotton.

You mean Good Job Garrison.....(Sarcasm)

w/ the exception of the UCLA game. and they regressed last week. really need this group to have a good day Saturday...if not those threads will be equally plentiful and brutal (and i'll probably contribute plenty...call me still a skeptic).

Before the Northwestern game, I believe we only had 3 drops. Outstanding receiving core, and outstanding job by Martinez by making the throws easier to bring in.
