Some stats and notes from Jon Nyatawa

Throw Cotton in there as well. The line we have this year is WAY better than last year. For as much grief (deserved) that Cotton got the last few years, this year's line has been worlds better.

The "Fire Barney" threads have been few and far between this year. Good job, Cotton.
Agreed. Including 2009, since then, if one cant easily concur that our line has improved each year, you're just going off a pre-conceived anti-Barney opinion.

...or you attribute the majority of the lines improvement to an improved overall offense/scheme. I think we see the line doing better more because of Beck than because of Cotton. Cotton was not the right guy to be paired with Watson. Couldn't pass block. Still can't. We just don't pass much anymore. Doesn't mean the line has "improved" though. They still do the same idiotic stuff. We're still thin. We're perpetually "young". Always injured. Highly recruited players walking out on the team. That unit has lost 2 in as many weeks. When was the last time we had a high profile player exit mid-season? (serious question)

The receivers are so much better this year that it is hard to put into words. When people said before the season that Nebraska had the best receivers in the conference, I was very skeptical because of their dropped pass issues. But they've definitely turned the page this year. Good work by Coach Fisher.
Also, don't forget about Taylor! He's been a lot better and more important, a lot more consistent this year. And he seems to be developing good rapport with these guys.

Is Taylor throwing the ball better? Absolutely! For all the crap Martinez gets, those drops for the most part against Texas were not his fault at all. To see that many balls go right through the receivers hands was pitiful. We didn't have one receiver on the team that was dependable a couple years back.

There were 3 legitimate td passes dropped. 2 by Taylor-One early to Burkhead and another one to Niles that he could walked in from the 20. Then on by Lee to Kinnie on a wide open post in the 4th. Ridiculous, but it's a broken record.
