Ok. I love thinking Thinking about the relationship between music and what is happening socially in the country.

It is really is an interesting relationship.

So...my question is....what song best represents your thoughts or opinions of the 60s.

GO!!!!!

There are so many songs that instantly transport me to the 60's it's hard to come up with a definitive example. But here are the first two that popped into my head.

Fortunate Son- CCR

Or pretty much anything by Crosby Stills and Nash or Creedence

No musical era has been influenced so greatly by the social and political landscape as the 60's and early 70's. I doubt we'll ever see anything quite like it again. The civil rights movement, Vietnam war, British Invasion, Woodstock, the Ed Sullivan show. Musically it was a wonderfully tumultuous time. If I could only have music from one ten year period it would be about 64 to 74 (plus or minus a year two without really thinking about it).

And another...

There really isn’t an era where the music defines the social atmosphere more. It has always fascinated me.

And then of course there were the defining moments of music festivals.

First there were the 3 days of peace exhibited at Woodstock.
