Sources say #22 will retire

This is 2 years too late. Emmitt was a great player, but he should have respectfully bowed out after 2002 when he got the record. He got greedy.

 
Nah he didn't get greedy, it was just his personal nature to push himself to the limits and challenge himself. Didn't want to look back and say "what if"

 
He'll be remembered as one of the greatest ever.
Agree there - one of the regrets I have is that I didn't take some free Cardinals tickets because of other plans.

It would have been nice to have seen him play in person at least once.

Not the fastest or strongest, or the biggest, but got the job done. Does anyone remember Scholastic Sports America on ESPN. A very young Chris Fauler hosted it. I rememeber seeing Emmit previewed on that when he was being recruited.. I also remember Ahman Green on that show too.

 
i have the upmost respect for Emmit Smith. He is a great person and a very hard worker. He just got the job done quietly and proudly. What a role model.
