As I watch the Huskers game again. I noticed the D-Line does not have any fundamental rush moves "at all". Just pushing and hand fighting.

Els said, honestly, there's not a lot of separation between about six guys at LB/Dime spots: Santos, Banderas, Rose, Zaire, Mo, Gerry.

For God's sake, put Zaire on the field. If that Compete Drill at the Spring Game was a fluke, fine. But let the man have a chance.

You do realize that Gerry is our best cover LB and that is why he plays in the dime package that we were in a ton of on Saturday? That's the reason he didnt play.

I do. I also realize that Wyoming didn't allow Nebraska's offense to dictate to them who they put on the field on defense. They kept their best athletes on the field, and it nearly won them the game.

It's great that we have such talent across a spectrum of players and possible packages, but that can't trump getting the best players on the field as much as possible.

I also realize that Bo's scheme isn't the only scheme he could be using and still get those players on the field. Bo's scheme can work - but so can about a dozen others. Use the scheme that gets the best guys on the field the majority of the time.

I'm all for this. Turn the athletes lose. The guy was a playmaker when we saw him out there. Let him spark the team. I mean 600 yards and all...how much worse was he going to hurt the defense?
