Sparty Not So Scary

Walk-on
I know it has been a crazy game with the weather delay and all, but man they are struggling... Their defense is making just enough plays to keep them alive. Just into the second half and they have punted the ball 8 times! Wonder if ESPN still liked them as a possible Legends winner.. HA

Offense is starting to move the ball with this new QB in, Cook. But he will learn pretty quick into BIG10 play that he ain't going to want to try to run LB's over every play...

First game and blah blah blah . . .

Sparty looks like they have dropped off. A lot.

They can't seem to get it together in any way, really. First game or not, they should be rolling Western Michigan.

Two defensive touchdowns so far tonight for Sparty, their offense looks.... not great. Their D is definitely bailing them out tonight.

It's typical Sparty--personal fouls, good defense, and bad offense. They won't do any better nor any worse than last year.
That defense does look a bit better than last year, though.

Then again, I'm honestly more worried about Minnesota pulling an upset on us than Michigan State. I know it's odd, but I'm a tad worried that Kill may have something good going on up there in Minnesota.

The defense looks better because they are playing Western Michigan.

Let's wait until we get to conference play to see what Minnesota has going on; they have a good running back, and Phillip Nelson is turning into a very serviceable quarterback. They're not a team to be taken lightly.

Not sure why personal fouls are typical, just 2 years ago they were one of the least penalized teams even having played a perfect no penalty game. If you mean like last year, ok, but it's not really typical of them long term.

I dont know, they have had quite a few unsportsman like penalties. They play with a chip on their shoulder all the time....it gets old.

Sparty is terrible. Their defense is good enough to win them games. But I'll be damned if they don't go 7-6 again with that ridiculous mess of an offense.

Even Doc Sadler is laughing at Sparty's offense

Sparty defense outscored their offense 14 to 12. Their offense should have worked harder during the off season at trying to not suck.
