Utter may be in the running, but if he is the actual starter come the season we will be in for a long season up the middle. This is JMHO. Not looking for a fight. I saw nothing he did last year that makes me feel good about him. He got beat ALOT last year.

Have to agree. Seems to have a good head on his shoulders and a good understanding of the offense but the athleticism is just not up to par...feel like this same conversation was being had about 2 years ago about a player at the same position. Really hoping to see Decker or Thurston emerge here

Utter played guard last year and did struggle. But center is a different position where smarts count a lot more. And the center commonly double teams a DT with one of the guards. I think this is a spot where Utter could do well. And if someone else beats him out (or even competition to push him), then all the better.

Still no live tackling.

Speculation is most of the "live" work will be psuedo-scrimmages on the next two Saturdays leading up to the Spring Game.
