Stadium Expansion

The sun rose this morning, so I thought I'd go take some more pictures of the stadium. This *should be* the final pics I take with the construction cranes in place. One of the workers told me they're taking these things down Wednesday, so next week, when I take pics, we should have an unobstructed view of the whole thing.

A few shots of the final parts of the facade needing to be filled in.

From all the way across the parking lot on the east side, next to 14th street, giving us an overall view of the behemoth.

And now for the Arena. Standard shots from all points of the compass. They're having another really nice "cold" building season so far, so they may be able to get the outer shell done before the real cold sets in.

Finally, some general interest shots I took while out this AM.

People have been asking about Barry's. Here it is in all its glory, refurbished and open for business.

The West Haymarket area from the south. I didn't have time to go up on the O Street overpass, so this is the next best thing.

This is the new building across the street to the south of the Arena. I think this is the new home for the "Fire Bo Pelini" fanclub or something.

Here are a few pics of Arena Drive, which is nearly completely paved now. Notice the tourist driving on the closed street in the one pic.

They're not as high up as I anticipated. Probably wouldn't be half bad seats on a nice day.

You can damn near put money on it: I will be sitting on that upper deck at some point next season to watch a game.

Unless that is misleading, the view looks pretty dang good. I would love to sit up there some time as long as the weather is nice.
