Stanley Jean-Baptiste

Who is the safety, #8? Cassidy? Because he was about 3 steps behind on that interception, which means he was about 5 steps out of position, as nothing should be getting behind him.

Courtney Osborne please?

im very happy for SJB.....he seems like a good kid and after watching the game over and over he seemed to be pretty on it (well except for penalty) most of the game... seems like sky is the limit for this kid.... definelty deserves the start and im sure this will also motivate the other FSCC crew to play harder for one another and the team as well

Thanks for the update...and really...once Fonzie gets his feet under him...this isn't a move that can derail an otherwise questionable secondary, but maybe get it solidified.
Is there a problem with him I haven't noticed? I think he's had one or two passes completed on him and is rarely thrown to.
He's not at his best. He'll tell you that. He'll get better. But yeah...he definitely dares the other team, which is a nice option to have in the secondary.
I think he is still trying to get over that mental block from his injury, just doesn't want to overexert himself and get injured again. Also this is only really his second full game back, so he is about a month behind everybody in terms of game reps. As he plays more and gets more confidence in his leg, I think he will eventually become the Dennard we all remeber.

is courtney osbourne really in bo's "doghpuse"? If so, for what? He was huge for us last year...
I'm not sure what the reason is, but he must be! Considering how much the secondary has struggled, I can't believe he hasn't even sniffed the field this year (other than special teams).

And he has been a beast on ST this year. I saw him around the football on almost every return. I can't believe they haven't put him on the field for the defense yet. Cassidy is terrible.

who was our other safety last game... I dont remember. but yes cassidy is TERRIBLE. I dont understand how we can seem to have so much talent at safety and this guy who is consistently bad continues to play. I can think of several plays last week off the top of my head that he has really hurt us..... dropped interception, he was the one that got faked out of his jock on the long run that set up the FG before half, being way out of position for that throw......I'm sure there is more. and what are they doing with cooper? is he a corner or safety?

I think with our young corners, they are thinking and trying to hard. Carl said it last week that they (coaches) need to quite teaching so much and let them go out and use their natural skills to make plays instead of thinking all the time.

I believe this is why Evans was better last year during the Mizzou game then he has been this year, he just went out and played without thinking much. The same could probably be said about SJB this last game.

While SJB looked tremendous in his first action, let's keep in mind the other team hasn't schemed against SJB yet either. He's awfully tall, so smaller, quicker guys could give him problems.

Is he the answer for our secondary? Him entering the game seemed to be one of the many turning points that got it all rolling in our favor. Boneheaded penalty aside, he looked like an actual corner out there and as a whole (with some help from Joe Bauserman) our secondary looked better than it has all year. For a converted wide receiver, I thought he played amazing.

Thoughts?

Actually, that wasn't a bad throw by Bauserman. I think that would've been a completion against any other Husker corner other than Dennard.

Early 2009 called, and it wants it O'hanlan Post back.

it SEEMS like we have more depth now.....(any thoughts on this big willie? are the recruits we brought in not as good as we had thought?)

plus cassidy has been in the system longer.... if he doesnt have a really good grasp by now will he ever? I could be way off on both.

I was under the impression that Cassidy was playing because he had the best understanding of the system.....

Cassidy seems to have the best understanding and is good at getting people in position... he just doesn't lay the hit when it comes to his own duties.

It was Stafford I believe..............I think he's getting better as the season goes along, but Cassidy is not very good. I'll give him some time though because I busted O'Hanlon's chops after the VT game a few years and he turned out okay.
