The word you are looking for is "corps". It is pronounced like "kor", but spelled differently. It's an odd word, but if you are going to use it, please use it correctly.
BTW you at least came close to the correct spelling. Twice earlier in this thread it was spelled "core", which is just plain stupid.
Sorry for the tangent
Is that the sort of drivel they teach you Iwegians over in Ames?
"Corp" is indeed correct, since it ended with a period, making it an abbreviation for "corporation." As everybody knows, Nebraska is stacked at wide receiver...a virtual wideout factory, hence the Huskers being called "Receivers Incorporated". We who are in the know talk about the "wide receiver corporation" (or shortened to "wide receiver corp.) all the time, just to use a bit of the insider lingo.
"Receiver core" is also correct, since we have all kinds of catching people at tight end, fullback, running back, every once in a while a TD throw to the quarterback or to an offensive lineman (backwards, if the ref gets it right). EVERYBODY catches ALL the time here. So when we talk about the guys like Westerkamp / Morgan / Reilly / Pierson El, we naturally mean the "core" receivers, which are those that actually line up in on the ends or the slots to catch ball as their primary reason for existence.
Now you know.
