I have a restaurant recommendation that I have to share. I highly recommend making the trip out to the Driftwood Inn north of Blair. The atmosphere of the place is nothing special . . . think small town cafe but set 10 feet from the Missouri river.

But the steak. Dear god, the steak.

I always get the large filet. It's less than $20 with sides, salad, and bread. Did I mention that it's the best steak that I've had anywhere?! And I do mean anywhere. Drover. Mahogany's. Paxton Chophouse. Etc. I think Driftwood's filet is better. (I can't vouch for any of the other steaks . . . so if you want to play it safe be sure to get the filet!)

Anyways. I highly recommend that you try it out. I believe that they are only open Thursday-Saturday evenings. If the weather is nice get some crabcakes and a drink out on the deck over the river before your meal.

At this point my favorite steakhouse is Archies in LeMars IA. LINK But I'm always on the lookoutfor new places. Just in case there's anything out there that can compare to Archies.

I'm the same way. It's my favorite until proven otherwise. I'm open to suggestions! I'll have to run over and try Archies.

 
You are very welcome...let me know if you get a coupon offer from them...hope you do:) I like finding coupons to eat out:) cheapskate here lol I figure whatever I save on us eating out can go toward the tip or something:) If anyone ever needs a coupon for a certain restaurant in your area..let me know wheat restairamt and the city you are going to eat out at... and I will try and find a coupon for you if you like:)

Good! I hope it lives up to the hype that I've given it. And . . . don't expect much from the atmosphere. :)

I have a very difficult time ordering steak at a restaurant. It's so easy to make fantastic steak at home for 1/2 the money.

Do you have a place to get U.S. Prime steaks? They usually only sell those to upscale restaurants.

 
Th Steak House on about 30th and Cornhusker Hwy is my place to go for a great steak. You get to pick your own cut of meat, and then watch them cook it for you. It is a little pricey, but well worth it if you have a little extra coin in your pocket.

 
I'd like to give a shout out to the Drover here in Omaha right by Bergan Mercy Hospital and the old BCBSNE building on 72nd street. A little hidden gem there on that corner and a good place for steak.

The whiskey marinated steaks at the Drover are excellent. Decent salad bar as well.
