It would bring in a lot more money for the school if we played in the conference championship game.

To heck with the money. With a bowl game, it brings an extra two or three weeks of practice, plus exposure to Texas or Florida to help with recruiting.

or in our case this year, take the money and throw...

Time invested in preparation for the bowl game, and the added exposure nationally, will continue to win us a high caliber of West Coast Offense recruits. Keep the string alive.
