stoops to ND

i am hearing that there is a lot of rumors flying around ND wed sites...... normally i ignore stuff like this, but when there is this much smoke.....

It's been brewing for a few weeks. I think he makes around 6 mil at OU and ND has to pay 18 to shove the big guy out the door.

I'd be surprised if this happens, very surprised.

I don't think that ND job is what it was years ago. Sure you have your own TV network to show your games, but it is probably one of the most high pressure jobs out there.

Recruiting-wise ND isn't the end-all destination it was years ago. Prestige and history at ND is ancient history and surely is lost on recruits unless they are students of the game. And finally, what player wants to ride the pine for 2-3 years when they can play earlier at a Boise State, and getting on TV at those schools is not nearly as hard as it used to be.

If there is one thing ND has more of than arrogance, it is money. The number they throw around is they have a $5 Billion(yes billion with a B not a typo) endowment. A few mil is chump change for them

I would still be very surprised that Stoops steps away from Oklahoma to go to Notre Dame.

I mean Stoops has really turned around OU and is heading in the right direction, why would he walk away from that and jump right back into fixing another messed up program? Money? maybe.

Is he Catholic?

What more can he do in Norman? :dunno

Bring better competition to the field when we go to Norman in 2012.

Not to mention, they make it so kids have to go to class at Notre Dame. They even make 'em graduate high school with good grades before they're allowed to play there.

I believe his family does have a catholic brackground. And dont think when and where he grew up doesnt make ND seem more attractive to him than it would to you or me.

Why would he go? Because he's a competitor. Maybe he's got the feeling that he's about maxed out at oklahoma...maybe he has that arrogance inside him that he can be the magical mystical man that saved the great and mighty Notre Dame program from the depths of certain and utter destruction. That type of possibility, the glory, whatever you want to call it, can be a huge drug to a guy with the competitive fire like Stoops. Dont doubt that for one second.

Stoops made it official he is staying in Oklahoma. "I can't be in two places at the same time."
