Not sure what the hell KU is thinking. Say goodnight to a winning season Mangino!! Im thinking old man Nutt might be wishing he boarded the plane after this season is thru. The only starter ARK has returning on Off is their QB!!

3 Big 12'rs in the top 10.

1. Arkansas 1547

2. Georgia Tech 1483

3. Virginia Tech 1482

4. Kansas 1479

5. Texas A&M 1478

6. North Carolina State 1468

7. Notre Dame 1463

Anyone know if SS will play in the BCS this year? Has it changed? I can't remember if I read anything about that or not. If so, this will obviously change a bit as the season progresses.

I believe when they overhauled the BCS they simplified it so that it doesn't take SS into account. I think the only things it uses are the two major polls and the computer rankings.

The odd thing now is there going back to the human element, something they were trying to get away from. Exactely why they had the strength of schedule. I think this is going to hurt. You will have a "Missouri" possible or a "Tulsa" getting into a high rated bowl because SS is left out.

I would think so too, but remember looking at the BCS Rankings? They had the different catagories; comp. rank, poll avg., quality wins, SOS, Losses, etc. They took everything out, except the comp. rank and poll avgerage. At least that's the way I understood it.

True, but my point was that if the Comp rankings use SOS to determine their rankings, the BCS rankings would INDIRECTLY still be affected by SOS. Follow me?

According to an interview given by Nutt some time back, one of the considerations given was a meeting with the AD, Broyles, in which Nutt detailed his returning players, the schedule, and his (then probable) recruiting class.

Nutt wanted assurances that everyone understood that this year and next would be difficult, and that his job wouldn't hang in the balance - that he's recruiting well and that this was just a "blip".

Arkansas' senior class this year is quite small - only 9 or 10. Arkansas "over-projected" on a lot of recruits - both in terms of ability and academices - in 2000.

It's going to be brutal in Arkansas this year...
