The Holiday Bowl is pretty sweet. That said, playing Washington is NOT. I thought I remember you guys taking them completely to the woodshed earlier. Not a fact that will likely raise interest and attendance on either side. Especially theirs...
A 10 win team facing off against a 6 win team that we already crushed at their homefield makes no sense. We got absolutely screwed in this one, but all we can hope for is to beat them like last time and ride off to the Big 10.
I agree it's a bad matchup, but we'll have to make do without Taylor healthy as he was before, and that's going to make a big difference. X's and O's wise, the rematch is intruiging. I could care less, I want to play a different team for variety sake.
And the Big 12 gets one last screw you in on Nebraska before you move on I even had my in-laws convinced to take us all down to the game since we would have had people cheering for both teams. Both match-ups are pale comparisons to what it would have been playing each other.
It was gona be us, OSU or Mizzou as odd man out headed to this bowl. When I was thinking about the potential Iowa-NU matchup last week as the only decent option if we lost the CCG I didn't realize the Big 12 could lean on the Insight people that much. I think it's sad for the Insight bowl because they just upped their payout and this would have been a matchup that would have drawn attention to the bowl and possibly sold out for the first time ever.
Is what it is. I'll still support the team, not going to go to the game now but I hope we demolish Washington.
