BIG 12 SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

 

Nate Swift, Nebraska, PR/WR, Sr, Hutchinson, Minn.

Nate Swift had an 88-yard punt return for a touchdown and three catches for 58 yards in Nebraska’s 35-30 loss to Virginia Tech. His punt return cut Virginia Tech’s lead to 28-23 in the fourth quarter. It was the fourth-longest punt return for touchdown in school history and the first Nebraska punt return for a touchdown since the 2002 Independence Bowl. With his pass receptions, Swift moved into second on the Huskers’ career receiving yardage list.

Nate seems to be one of the few good things worth mentioning on special teams.

Nate was trying to single handedly bring back this game. He almost succeeded too.

Swift just comes to play and never shows any emotion when the balls not coming his way. He is a team first player. I thought before the season started that he would be a go to receiver. Get it "near" his hands and he catches 8 out of 10 tough ones. He has been and still is my fav Husker.
