Syracuse @ Washington Highlights Video

A couple of observations----

Seems as Locker doesnt have much time when he does the 5 step drop. So I expect alot slants to thrown against the blackshirts.

Kearse is one heckuva of a player. But dont expect him to be that wide open against Nebraska.

Polk seems carry the ball like a loaf of bread. Very Niles Paul like.

UW defense is not that good. It seemed it would be 10 or so yards before the a Syracuse runner was touched let alone tackled. UW needs to work on their tackling, other wise TMart,Rex and Helu are gonna have a field day.

But the UW defense isnt as bad as Syracuse

Whats with those chicks flashing the Westside sign after a score.

They are throwing up the dubs for W-ashington ;)

As far as the Cuse runner, he had 3 or 4 runs that went for more than 4 yards, the rest of the game he was stuffed.

I feel a lot less worried about Washington now. I don't think their receivers will be as open as they were in this game, and our guys can surely tackle much better than Syracuse can. I also think our running game will have a good day, and they seem to have poor kick coverage. I expect a good day for Nebraska Saturday.

Wow. Syracuse is bad. Like, bad bad. What happened to the Orange? They used to be a good team.

Washington will see a very, very different level of speed and coverage Saturday than they saw against BYU and Syracuse. Half the time I was looking at the Dubya receivers wondering who was supposed to be covering them. Locker will NOT have that kind of time to throw this week.

I'll say the same thing to the Washington fans that I said to the Arizona fans for the Holiday Bowl. They chose not to believe me, so maybe you guys will have more sense. The bottom line is, Locker will have no more than three seconds to get rid of the ball. He may be able to scramble in that amount of time, but if he holds it longer he's going down, and likely pretty hard. He has to find a receiver and deliver a contested ball where only the WR can catch it or it's going to be incomplete or picked off. I didn't see any running to speak of in this game, but I know Locker is more mobile than Foles from Arizona last year, so that'll change the equation a little bit, but bottom line is, he had better bring his A++ game this week.

If he does that, Washington could win. Or if we play like we did against Texas Tech last year, Washington could win. Anything less and I don't see the Huskies pulling this out.
