T-Mart: 15-1 Odds for 2013 Heisman

If Jadeveon Clowney even wants to think, or be thought about winning the Heisman, he will need to put up more than what he did this year.

13 sacks & 54 tackles, 40 Solo

Jarvis Jones, IMO, was the best LB in the nation this year and wasn't even considered.

14.5 Sacks, 86 Tackles, 53 Solo & 1 INT.

The BCS title game exposed Manti. He is the most overrated college player in the last several years. There were several defensive players more deserving of the recognition he received this year.

 
After watching Bama's D against Notre Dame, and knowing what Manziel did against them, favoring him to repeat is an absolute no-brainer. Of course, I'd like to see what he can do against a Saban D when Nick has 40 days.

 
That's great, but I honestly couldn't care less. I'd rather have another conference title before another Heisman trophy.

Even though in order for Taylor to win the Heisman, he would probably have to win the B1G to even get an invite anyway.

He's got enough skill players around him and a great offensive coordinator to make it happen though.

Kenny, Jamal, and Quincy should all be improved and should provide quick, easy completions that open up opportunities for a lot of YAC.

Ameer, Braylon, and Imani should provide a solid distraction in the running game, forcing defenders to play honestly and not focus solely on Taylor.

There also should be a good group of young guns looking to prove themselves in their first season.

Tommy Armstrong isn't going to take his starting job, but if anything, an up-and-coming QB should force Taylor not to settle. Same goes for Stanton if he doesn't redshirt.

Westerkamp and Allen could make an impact at receiver under the radar and the same can be said for Newby at RB.

Should be an even better offense next season, even if we don't have Rex. The sky is the limit for Taylor. He can be as good as he wants to be next year......if he stays healthy.

Why does everyone think this? Did Baylor have this kind of season? Did they even play in a BCS game when RGIII won? No they didn't on both cases

Did TAMU go 11-1 or 12-0 when Menzeil won? No, they had a two loss year as well.

As long as Taylor plays better, as in keeping the ball off the ground and being smart when he throws it, he will have a very good shot, despite if we only lose more than one game. For once, the Heisman has moved on from "who is the best player on the best team", to who is the consistent player who can still find a way to win that doesn't put their team in jeopardy.

Taylor would have been in the spotlight this year, if he wasn't leading the nation in fumbles this year and didn't have an INT on the first drive of two games. Smart, decisicive and skilled kids when it. Not turnover machines.

Now I do agree if we lose more than 3 games, he won't be considered, but the loss margin is more than one, if your a great athletic kid.

Baylor did win 10 games though. And Griffin had numerous Hiesman moments, from his performance in the season opener against TCU, to their win against Oklahoma, to a blowout win over Texas. I think Griffin was an easy pick for Hiesman. No, a team does not have to be a top 5 BCS team for a player to win the Hiesman, but in the case of Taylor, that's probably what it will take.
