All-American
Just some thoughts on our yearly holidays. Here goes...

First

4th of July

Its warm or hot. You can party outside, drink cold beer, spend the day with friends and shoot off fireworks.

Second

Memorial Day

Summer is here. You can party outside, drink cold beer, spend the day with friends.

Third

Labor Day

College Football Season is gearing up for another season. You can party outside, drink cold beer, spend the day with friends.

Fourth

New Years

N. Y. Eve: 3:00 Cocktails and calamari as an appatizer. Home by 8:00 for a quiet evening, just J.D. and me.

N. Y. Day: Asti and orange juice with carmel rolls and fruit for breakfast. The Crew assembles at our house for a day of companionship, games, football and of course cold beer.

Fifth

Christmas

The children seem to have a good time and the food is good, but the in-laws are here with their undisaplined offspring.

Sixth:

All of the rest

At least its a three day weekend.

Seventh

Thanksgiving

The meal is good but we are at the in-laws with the same unruly children from Christmas but in a much smaller house.

Eighth

Martin Luther King day

It should be moved to the Monday after the Super Bowl.

There you have it, my thoughts on the Holidays and how I would rank them. Your comments are welcome.

I agree with #1. The 4th of July is awesome.

I would put Christmas and Thanksgiving a lot higher though.

Cool list! May I add mine?

8. Christmas - Sure you have a week off of work but everything is closed, the roads are packed and nice people suddenly become panicy angry doddlebots. The days after Christmas are such a relief.

7. Valentines - Another excuse to blow even more money on the woman.

6. Thanksgiving - Big feast, rowdy kids and football conversation. Woohoo.

5. Good Friday - It's a free Friday off work and that's awesome.

4. New Year - Yeah it's a big party and you get to kiss drunken ladies but the day after you are hung over and try to think of New Year's Resolutions which will not be carried out anyway. But Football is on.

3. Halloween - They play horror movies on TV and in the theatre. There is a ton of cheap candy being sold and given away. There are costume parties! If you find an adult costume party, that's awesome.

2. Easter - Easter candy is sooooooo damn good. Those hard chocolate eggs, marshmallow peeps, penutbutter cups, malt balls and those creme-filled chocolate eggs. Plus you have the day off. (drool)

1. Veteran's Day - Sure you might have to work but if you're in a military family or are military yourself, you get to feel good. Visit memorials and grave sites, remember the fallen and have a get-together. Then turn on the TV and watch all the pundits throw hissy fits at eachother.

1. Valentines Day; only cause it's also my birthday, birthday sex {need I say more}

2. Labor Day; football season, cooking out, nice weather.

3. Halloween; seasonally my favorite time of the year, and we do it up for trick or treat.

4. Christmas; not really into it that much but the wife goes nuts with the decorations.

5. 4th of July; cooking out, fireworks, bikinis

6. New Years eve night, St Patricks Day, Cinco De Mayo; make serious bank those nights.
