Tailgating for Visitors

Walk-on
I was wondering if someone could offer some advise on tailgating for visiting fans. Are there areas where we can pay to park and tailgate? How early can you show up or should you show up? how much space is generally available? Any general rules we should be aware of? We usually setup a 10' x 10' canopy and some tables and chairs, a small grill, etc. I also may bring my portable satelite dish and TV and a generator - if generators are allowed tailgating there.

I am coming for the Wyoming game 8-31-13. Never been to a game in Lincoln - I'm looking forward to it.

Your best bet would probably be the Native American Center at 10th & Military (commonly known as "The Reservation"). They sell the grounds before each game, and that's likely your best bet for close tailgating. Lincoln isn't well set up for tailgating near the stadium, and all the close lots are sold to Husker donors.

If you look at Google Maps and zoom in to 10th & Military, it's the area on the north east corner with the circular structure amidst the trees. You enter on Military.

As stated by earlier posts, there aren't great spots near the stadium for single game parking that have any type of tailgating opportunities. Frats and other buildings near campus may sell parking spots, but they generally cram as many cars, as possible, so tailgating is not really an option.

If you are coming in for one game, you might want to try hanging out on O Street or in the new Railyard area by the new arena.

You can just park anywhere and head over to the Single Barrel at 130 No. 10th St, very close to the stadium. Have some beer and food and listen to some fun music

Lots of visitors usually there and treated well

Joyce and Paul will even let you come on stage and Sing the Wyoming School Song etc

Being a visiting fan, you'll most likely find yourself being invited to any one of a number of other tailgates with Husker fans. Enjoy your visit

Are the lots around Haymarket Park now for donors? I know the ours behind right and center field are, as that's where we tailgate, b but I have no clue if the stadium is still public our not

Did someone say tailgate?

They weren't as of last year as we usually tailgate right north of the softball field. I have not heard anything yet and will expect to be there come the 31st.

Here is a link to the 2013 football parking map from the University. It looks like they have made all the parking around the baseball and softball fields season pass parking.

You will be able to walk up to almost any tailgating area south, west, and north of the stadium and be able to join the party!
