Tangent Thread - P&R Edition

Just because you are registered as a republican does not mean you are okay with the far right antics that are being played in that party currently.
Maybe, possibly not but it is a big ole red flag. If that person is still voting R, it means they’re okay with it. I mean let’s be real, there is no longer a version of the R party that is not far right antics. It’s not that hard to change your party affiliation to unaffiliated or independent. I know, I did it not so long ago.

Really this is kind of a copout. It’s like saying, just because a person is a member of the KKK doesn’t mean they’re okay with what the KKK does. Ummm yeah, it kinda does.

Registered Republican? Maybe. You're still in position to influence what you think the GOP should be. But there are clearly a lot of Republicans who keep elevating bottom-of-the-barrel  candidates saying some of the stupidest s#!t on earth. If you shrug and vote along that party line then yeah, you're part of the problem. Maybe it never occurred to some folks until it intersected with Nebraska football, but it's a problem across the board.

Pillen and his meddling has been rumored to be the cause of many UNL issues since the election.  I understand that state money is used at a state university but to have the governor basically demand a president be installed that HE can work with in lieu of holding back money for a university project, in my opinion, is borderline criminal.

Criminal?

Drama.  It’s the way everything gets done.  Unfortunately.

If there is any truth that the governors meddling has negatively impacted the football program at the University of Nebraska, that’s a quick way to assure you will not stay governor long…

If that's true I am going to start a rumor and blame it all on the Ricketts family to get them to leave the state permanently. '15 was Mike Riley's first year and the men's basketball team didn't make the NCAA tournament the entire time he was Governor.  Plus Cowboy Chicken closed on Pine Lake and Fresh Thyme left Nebraska.  Just might be something to this linking Sneaky Pete.

there are several sections under the Nebraska Revised Statute that address public (state) funds being used, or held back, in exchange for an individual to be included or excluded for public office or public employment.

Solid Citation Matlock.  The defense rests.

Still not saying I think it’s right.  It’s what happens…In everything.
