Taylor Martinez in an Emergency

Honesty, I'm not sure how effective it would have been to insert a cold and injured T-Mart into that situation with the game on the line, all the mo' in ISU's favor, etc. I really think we were better off sticking with Green, even if only just by a little bit. As the saying goes, you don't change horses midstream.

The biggest question, truly, is WTH (that's, "where the ****") is Zac Lee? Dude must be really hurt. I have always been a Zac Lee fan and think that he provides an unsensational, but very reliable, backup who can manage the game and get the ball to the playmakers. He is the perfect backup for this offense: experienced, confident, and reliable. I didn't see a single camera shot of him all game yesterday. I am hoping against hope that he is ready to go against KU so that T-Mart can get all the rest he needs for A&M and beyond. And if he isn't ready to go, we'll need Zac to step in. Otherwise, we're done.

Cody did fine. He wasn't amazing but he didn't turn the ball over. He had one fumble on a zone read exchange and recovered it. A few overthrown passes but also had several solid throws in that third quarter. Let's face it. The defense plays inspired and shuts down isu and we're not nearly as hard on cody. He played better than a 3rd string qb in my mind. He doesn't have the speed to get to the corner and that's obvious (and disappointing) but he's serviceable right now.

Emergency as in Cody Green and Latravis Washington get hurt and knocked out of the game. ANd then the Joker offense stops working.

Well it's true. We took control back in the third quarter and went up 24 - 10. It wasn't Cody Green who let Iowa State back in the game.

But two months ago we were assured it was a tight three man race for starting QB and that any of them could lead this offense. I simply don't think that's true anymore and it's extremely clear the coaches don't trust Cody to run anything but a pared down Husker offense, and only if the other two quarterbacks are missing limbs.
