He held a Houston offer and its the same coaches recruiting him for Texas as it was for Houston. I take that as a good sign in that he turned that same group of coaches down once.

Good point and at the time Houston was probably as good a draw as Txass is now.

Does anyone know if he has any ties to Oklahoma (the state)? I know his dad currently coaches at DePaul and was a asst at Tulsa (so I'm geussing that is where the OK ties come in) before taking the DePaul job.

 
Not really. He stayed in OK to live with his grandmother to finish out his senior season, while the rest of his family moved to Chicago. He wasn't born in Oklahoma and has spent much of his life growing up on the east coast.

 
Wouldnt be the 1st TE that we beat out Texas for. They wanted Jack Stoll last year and he signed with us. It speak towards his athleticism to be recruited by 2 spread schools. Hope we can keep this kid in this class.
